The Hunger Games marketing is starting to bring out some of the good stuff. The teaser trailer that dropped really didn't show anything but it did create a bit of a frenzy around the movie.
Based on the Suzanne Collins' book trilogy, the studio is betting pretty heavily on Hunger Games reaching Twilight craziness and hence a franchise they can count on.
I haven't read the books yet and based on what I have seen so far, I am not really feeling this...yet.
Let's see what comes up after this.
For now we are given character posters of the main characters. We get our first look at at Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, Elizabeth Banks as Effie, Amandia Stenberg as Rue, Alexander Ludwig as Cato, as well as some brooding looks at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta.
Hunger Games centers on Katniss, a young woman who must survive a televised fight to the death between her and teenagers from other the other districts of Panem. In the post-apocalyptic world of the book, North America is now referred to as Panem and is divided up into twelve districts that each specialize in manufacturing a specific good for the nation, which is all under control of the Capitol.
The movie opens March 23rd, 2012.

Official Synopsis:
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which âTributesâ must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If sheâs ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
